Here’s what they’re saying. When you have Governor terminator helping you release something that is quite obviously the greatest thing since a couple of ex vacuum salesmen were selling dehumidifiers that turned air into drinking water, you have to question the authenticity.

Having said that, I want to believe!

So the future of paper is coming. The western and first world will recieve all the information they need to advance in a digital format and the third world, as part of an ecological clamp down, will be punished for reading books made of paper.

I know I’m a cynic, but I like to hedge my bets on reality.

Anyway, here’s one of the first products on the market and I’m excited.

Esquire magazine recently decided to put some e-ink in their centenery issue (or some other birthday) to prove what technology is doing to their industry. So here you can see the first e-paper to be sold in the consumer market place and to that effect you can see some psycho’s efforts at destroying it.

I was about ready to go out. It was coming up to 7pm on Friday night. What fun, weekend loving person wouldn’t be thinking about going out to shake his or her thang and paint the town red? Sat night was to be taken up with Chelsea playing Coventry and Arsenal were playing Burnley on Sunday. I was just working out how to entertain myself for the night, when I got a call.

I’d made myself available and had been put on the short list of one, to be the stand by courier for an international delivery company.

I got the call as I was putting on my new fat Nikes. Do you like them? They are my fav of all time and my 5th pair.

“Dave, are you ready to go? We need you at the airport in 2 hours!”

So that was that, my weekends plans were out the window.

Let me cut the long story short. My job was to meet my contact at Hong Kong international airport, there he would give me my tickets and information. I would then fly to Seoul, arriving at 4am. Go through customs and wait for my package to arrive at around lunch time, giving me plenty of time to get my head down on a bench or nose into a good book.

After getting the package, it was up to me to check the bags in. Make my way to the plane through passport control, confirm that the bag had made it to the plane before boarding it. Then fly back to Hong Kong 3pm in the afternoon.

I thought that was it, a doddle, but oh no.

Once back in Hong Kong I would have to bring back through customs, then check back on to a Swiss Air flight leaving at 12midnight to take the bag to Zurich. Arriving in Zurich, I’d confirm the bags had been transferred to the Geneva plane and then fly with them to my final destination, where at 7am Sunday morning there would be a nice man waiting for me to receive the bag.

My return flight was booked for 9pm that night. Back to Zurich for a transfer to Hong Kong. So I had the whole day to kill in Geneva.

AWESOME! A day trip to Geneva.

Ok Geneva was nice. It was cold and it had some great historical buildings, but f**k me is it quiet!

The best thing that Switzerland had to show me that I’d never seen before was this beautiful experience getting off at Zurich airport.

What I did see in the airpot though was a lot of technical bits and pieces that were so over priced I could have choked.

Stuff like these lot, gadgety stuff. USB things and blue tooth things. All of this stuff is loads cheaper in Hong Kong than Geneva.

I’ll try and get some stuff up here so you an get an idea as to what price I can get this stuff for. The prices they are charging the Swiss is scandalous!
